I have not yet investigated this fully, but the idea is to cleanup every bit of the leftover from previous installation and then proceed with a clean installation. Output The existing password for the user account root has expired. As soon as you enter it, you will be required to change it. And run the following MySQL queries on the shell. We will create a new database and user named xxxxxxxxx with password xxxxxxxxxx. Install Apache/httpd using the yum command below. Type '\c' to clear the current input statement. sudo mysqlsecureinstallation This will prompt you for the default root password. The web server packages can be installed from the default CentOS 7 repository. rootserver mysql -u root Welcome to the MariaDB monitor. rootserver sudo mysqldsafe -skip-grant-tables -skip-networking
